MANILA (Update) -- Following her nomination for Best Female Lead in a TV Program/Series for her performance in the hit drama series "Linlang," Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu is scheduled to attend the ContentAsia Awards 2024 in Taiwan.
Chiu emphasized in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, shortly before heading to Taipei, her excitement over the event.
"I'm really happy since this is my first time nominating to an award-giving organization. The feeling excites me," she said.
Chiu said she worries about showing up for the Thursday, September 5 awards event. "Habang nag-iimpake ako kagabi sabi ko, 'Diyos ko, itutuloy ko pa'to?'" As in kinakabahan talaga ako. Still, the actress noted, being nominated for the ContentAsia Awards is a significant thing.
Well wishes from her "Linlang" co-stars, particularly on-screen partner Paulo Avelino, have given her more confidence in showing up for the awards event.
"Congratulations and sabi niya maging nominated lang panalo na 'yun," Chiu said. "Kaya ayun, congrussive na rin siya. Napapa happy sila (cast and crew). Sana mauwi ko talaga!

Producer of the program Dreamscape Entertainment sent pictures of Chiu at the airport getting ready for her foreign trip.
The caption said, "We are proud of you, Kapamilya!"
Chiu wrote recently thanking others for the nomination. She rivals Anne Thongprasom (Thailand), Chantalle Ng (Singapore), Charmaine Sheh (Hong Kong), Lusi Zhao (China), and Ranee Campen (Thailand).
