Keira Knightley is famous because she is an actress. He starred in movies like The Pirates in the Caribbean, Boston Strangler and more. Keira is quite a talented actress herself, although I haven't seen many of her films. I'm not his biggest fan either, so that's it.

Keira Knightley says she felt 'constrained' and 'stuck' by her 'Pirates of the Caribbean'

Reflecting on her role as Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Keira Knightley said she tried not to be cast in similar roles later on.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
"She was the object of everyone's desires," Knightley said of her "pirate" persona in a cover story for the April issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, published Tuesday. "It's not that she doesn't have a lot of wrestling in her. But it was interesting to go from being a real tomboy to being the complete opposite.

"I felt very limited," she continued. "I felt very stuck. So later the newspapers tried to try to get out of it."

Knightley first played Elizabeth, the Governor's daughter and Will Turner's lover of Orlando Bloom, in the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

He reprized the role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Revenge (2017).

Prior to her involvement in the franchise, she played Robin Hood's daughter in the TV movie Princess of Thieves and played a football player in Bend It Like Beckham.

Between episodes of the Pirates films, he also had roles in landmark films like Pride and Prejudice (which earned him an Oscar nomination), Atonement and Anna Karenina.

Knightley told Bazaar UK that between 2003 and 2008 she felt trapped and "quite helpless" in her career.

"I had no idea how to articulate this," he said. "I felt like I was locked into something I didn't understand."

Knightley admitted she was "incredibly hard on herself" and ambitious to her own detriment, which led to burnout.

In the years since 2009, the actor has sought stage roles in London and New York, beginning with productions of The Misanthrope, The Children's Hour and Thérèse Raquin.

His film roles include the romantic comedy Begin Again, the action movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and the drama The Imitation Game.

Keira Knightley’s sleepless screen job in Disney Plus show Boston Strangler

It's alright, mate, I've got your back': Keira Knightley on connection with Boston Strangler co-star Carrie Coon, Entertainment News - AsiaOne

A busy woman with two big jobs, Keira Knightley has no time to waste.

By day, he stalks an on-screen serial killer. At night, she is busy being a mother.

For that reason, the Love Actually sweetheart was relieved to have a co-star mom on the way to Carrie Coon in her new movie Boston Strangler.

Knightley confronts Loretta McLaughlin, an aspiring Boston Herald (formerly The Boston Record-American) reporter who has been hired to write about "women's issues" like fashion and earnings while a serial killer is on the loose. all of new england.

McLaughlin's growing interest in the murders led her to become an integral part of solving the killer's case.

She and her partner Jean Cole, played by Coon (the Golden Age), dubbed him The Boston Strangler.

The killer, Albert de Salvo, was a career criminal who was first arrested aged 12 for assault and robbery. He eventually confessed to strangling 13 women between 1962 and 1964, most of whom were also raped.

McLaughlin and Cole were the unsung heroes of the case, which so far has only been a footnote in the arrest of this notorious killer.

For Knightley and Coon, there were clear parallels between their characters' on-screen camaraderie and their off-screen relationship.

Like their alter egos, they are both married with children and also have successful careers. Knightley says: "I've been very lucky, especially with Carrie, because we're both mothers of two young children, so there's something very, very beautiful about walking on a set and watching another woman in the eyes with full understanding.”

Knightley has been married to British Klaxons rocker James Righton since 2013, with whom she has daughters aged seven and three. Coon has been married to acclaimed actress and playwright Tracy Letts since 2013 and the couple have a five-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter. Knightley adds, "We could look at each other with our totally sleepless eyes and be like, 'Okay, mate. I've got your back.'"

As for testing McLaughlin's life, Knightley told Today from London: "I had heard of the Boston Strangler, but I really didn't know anything about it."

"I thought it was a really interesting way to tell the story of a serial killer from the perspective of these two journalists," she said. "And the fact that you have this case where most people didn't know it was two women who discovered the story and the fact that they were mostly erased from the history of the case, that was really interesting."

More than 20 years after finding fame with Bend It Like Beckham, the Pride and Prejudice star Knightley is passionate about his change of direction and his role as McLaughlin.

"To me, Boston Strangler is a love song for investigative journalists," says Knightley. "It underscores the importance of having women in positions of power in the storytelling. These two women said, 'This is an important story. This is information that needs to be made public to keep the women of Boston safe. .I think that was largely a story that was ignored by the male establishment at the time."

Knightley's McLaughlin is a product of his time, when rampant sexism was the norm, and his efforts alongside Coles to solve the case have been all but stymied by his predominantly male editorial board, although together they have made great strides for married women in the workforce who are raising children.

“She is absolutely inspiring,” smiles Knightley of McLaughlin. "With all the things she's been through, the male dominated workplace as she desperately tries to live a home life, raise children while trying to get justice for these women, I think it was his tenacity that I admired the most.”
