Taylor Swift has voiced her opinion after three of her Eras Tour dates in Vienna were canceled earlier this month due to a failed terrorist plot that resulted in the arrest of two people.
Swift shared on Instagram her dismay and worry over the cancellations in the wake of the tour's European leg, which came to an end at London's Wembley Stadium.
The photo's caption said, "Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions."The cancellation of our shows in Vienna was painful. I was worried and felt terrible when I found out why those events had to be canceled since so many people had made arrangements to attend them. I was grateful to the authorities, however, since it was because of them that we were lamenting performances rather than lives.
"The love and unity I witnessed among the fans who came together gave me hope," she said. I decided that my whole focus had to be on helping to ensure the approximately 500,000 people who came to my shows in London were secure. To accomplish that goal, my team and I worked closely every day with stadium staff and British authorities, and I would want to thank them for all that they done for us. To be clear, I will not discuss anything in public if I believe that doing so may provoke someone who would want to harm the guests at my events.

In answer to fans who had observed that she hadn't made a statement in the days after the cancellations, she said that it was to see the Eras Tour through to a safe conclusion. She said, "In situations like this one,'silence' is actually demonstrating restraint and waiting to express yourself at the appropriate time." "Safely completing our European tour was my top priority, and I'm relieved to report that we succeeded." Then London seemed to be a beautiful dream sequence. All five of the supporters at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and energy. Every night, the energy in that stadium took me back to a carefree, peaceful period and felt like the largest bear hug from 92,000 people.
Swift had originally scheduled a performance at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna from August 8–10 as part of her Eras Tour's international leg. But authorities canceled the concerts after the apprehension of two people in the town of Ternitz, which is located outside of Vienna.
Among the suspects apprehended were two more men and a 19-year-old who lived with his parents and had pledged allegiance to ISIS. Police found many chemicals and supplies that were being investigated to see if they may be used to construct explosives during a search of the 19-year-old's home. Authorities claim that the boys were recently radicalized online and that they had meticulously planned every aspect of the attack.
After learning of the arrest, authorities decided to cancel the concerts, after initially stating that they may proceed with increased security. Police Chief Gerhard Purstl said that even if the "minimized" physical risk had vanished, there remained a "abstract danger".
Austrian event promoter Barracuda Music confirmed the cancelation and confirmed the terrorist threat in a statement. The text said, "Government officials confirm planned terrorist attack; Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Vienna Shows cancelled." "Given the confirmation by government authorities of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we are forced to cancel the three scheduled events for everyone's safety."
Swift just wrapped off her European Eras Tour, which included five performances at Wembley Stadium in London. She is soon returning to North America, where she will finish the tour with three performances at Vancouver's BC Place in November and six performances at Toronto's Rogers Centre.
She celebrated the conclusion of the European Eras Tour events by thanking Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch, and Jack Antonoff—her surprise guests—in a subsequent post. It was only fitting that she concluded by thanking all of the fans who attended the shows.

"You'll always have the most sparkling place in my memories, to the fans who saw us this summer," she said. "Dancing, performing, and spending those amazing moments with you was a joy. For now, however, we get to take a much-needed break until The Eras Tour resumes in October. We can't wait to see you all again. I appreciate the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. May it never end.
