On his big night, Drew Brees did not have much to celebrate from the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints were defeated by the Denver Broncos in a lopsided game on a night when the club honored their Super Bowl MVP quarterback into the franchise Hall of Fame. The game was coached by former head coach Sean Payton. In the 33-10 Week 7 setback on "Thursday Night Football," New Orleans managed only 10 points, with the lone score coming after Jake Haener, the team's third-string quarterback, entered the game.

Who Scored The Touchdown For The Saints Tonight

The Broncos' defense and running back Javonte Williams, who is in his fourth season and 44th game overall, were the stars of the show that night.

Derek Carr missed his second consecutive game due to an oblique injury, but Denver strip-sacked backup quarterback Spencer Rattler of the Saints twice, with one of those runs resulting in a 52-yard score.

After suffering a knock in the fourth quarter, Rattler had to leave the game, which gave Haener the opportunity to toss his first NFL touchdown.

Highlights of Broncos vs. Saints

Following Spencer Rattler's removal, Saints quarterback Jake Haener throws a touchdown.

Rattler, the rookie quarterback for New Orleans, sustained a knock with around two minutes remaining in the contest. The Saints substituted in quarterback Jake Haener, a second-year player, to avoid taking a higher injury risk.

After five plays, Haener hit receiver Cedrick Wilson over the middle for his first NFL touchdown. In his short appearance, the third-stringer went 3-for-4 for 38 yards and the touchdown throw.

For the Broncos, Cody Barton scores a defensive touchdown.

Barton had the final laugh two quarters after his fumble recovery score was called back due to an offsides penalty. Another fumble was caused by a Ja'Quan McMillian sack of Spencer Rattler, but this time there were no penalties to negate Barton's 52-yard touchdown run.

Fourth-quarter Saints force fumble

Less over seven minutes remained in the game, when Willie Gay Jr. forced a fumble from rookie running back Audric Estime, giving the Saints their first turnover of the game. In Broncos territory, New Orleans seizes control.
