The black diaspora is vast and contains many beautiful complexities. The way one identifies with oneself is personal, although it can give rise to many debates and discussions. By acknowledging the diverse lineage of our community, we acknowledge that we may come in many different shades and stripes, but that does not necessarily negate our strong sense of pride in our own black community or culture.
