The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is the automaker’s entry-level sedan, riding on a front-wheel-drive architecture shared with the Mini division. After unveiling the first-generation model for the 2020 model year, BMW has revised its subcompact car early for 2025. The restyled 2 Series Gran Coupe gets a fresh look that appears to draw inspiration from the newest 5 Series. While the sedan’s wheelbase remains the same, the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe is 0.7 inch longer and an inch taller to provide for additional headroom. BMW’s M Sport styling package is now standard, with design updates including larger air intakes, a wide BMW kidney grille with available illumination, a long hood with short overhangs, heavy shoulder lines, a number 2 in BMW’s signature Hofmeister window kink, new taillights, and bumper-integrated tailpipes. Equipping the new Premium option adds a gloss black roof to contrast with any of the 11 regular paint choices. BMW also provides specific color options for individuals wishing more customisation. The 2 Series Gran Coupe sits on 18- or 19-inch wheels. An M Sport Professional option adds BMW Shadowline lights, a rear spoiler, and darker Shadowline trim surrounding the vehicle.
BMW raised power and torque for the standard engine, which now delivers 241 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are offered with this turbocharged four-cylinder, which is utilized in 228 vehicles. Both models feature a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Stepping up to the M235 xDrive improves power to 312 hp, 10 more horses than last year. Torque for this improved 2 Series Gran Coupe is down from 2024, however, decreasing from 332 to 295 lb-ft.

The 230i now has a hexagonal steering wheel, while M Sport variants are outfitted with a flat-bottomed wheel. New paint colors include Vegas Red, Skyscraper Gray, Frozen Pure Gray, Frozen Portimao Blue, as well as Zandvoort Blue for the M240i.

There’s new Fineline Light open-pore fine-wood trim for the 330i and M Aluminum Rhombicle for the M340i, both as standard equipment. BMW also incorporates customizable ambient lighting accents around the central vents. If you pick the M Carbon Exterior package, BMW fits mirror covers for the twin-stalk M side mirrors, carbon fiber-reinforced plastic inserts for the outer air intakes. Cape York metallic and Vegas Red paint are now available as paint colors.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine now features Miller cycle combustion as well as revised intake ports and combustion chambers among other modifications. The most visible modifications are the i4’s smaller headlamps with better functionality and its restyled grille with a matte chrome frame. In the back, BMW's Laserlight taillights are included on cars equipped with the Shadowline package. In the rear, BMW provides a gloss black diffuser for M Sport package cars. Customization possibilities grow with Cape York Green metallic and Vegas Red metallic paint available as well as new 19- and 20-inch wheel types.
Inside the cabin, BMW supplies the i4 with new interior materials including M Fine Brushed Aluminum, new Fineline Light open-pore and Grey Blue Ash open-pore wood. For a more sumptuous feel, the i4 boasts a smoother upholstery finish. There are also new physical controls to regulate the air vents for all models. As another luxury option, BMW now provides its Galvanic finish for the gear selector, BMW iDrive Controller, and start/stop button. Digitally, the 2025 i4 features BMW's iDrive 8.5 operating system and onscreen temperature controls. BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant has been upgraded with additional voice commands to alter the temperature control and heated steering wheel. As an EV-specific touch, BMW’s new charging-optimized route advice has been improved.
