Vanessa Hudgens makes TikTok debut

Vanessa Hudgens met her fiancé, major league baseball player Cole Tucker, during a group meditation session on Zoom. After spotting Tucker in his virtual zoom zone, Hudgens fired his shot and slipped into his DMs. Now she is planning her wedding. "It's really tough," admits Hudgens when asked how he's doing. She is busy as she is. Prior to her engagement, Hudgens had embarked on what she calls a rather "daunting" project: renaming and rebranding Know Beauty, the skincare brand she co-founded with Madison Beer in 2021. "Madison has a lot to offer." "It was his job to make music, to write his memoirs — so he told me to do it," Hudgens explains. Today, she leads the creative direction of the label. Know Beauty's original concept was DNA skincare. "Unfortunately, it didn't work out the way we thought it would," says Hudgens. "About a year later, we tested our business and had to change."

Here, Hudgens talks about the brand's new direction, her beauty must-haves (including a new clay mask she created for Know Beauty), her favorite way to do nail art, and her refreshing approach. of bridal beauty preparation.

About her skincare routine

When Hudgens changed the direction of Know Beauty, he decided to completely abandon the original concept and create one remarkable product: a clay mask.

“I have oily, problematic skin; I've struggled with acne most of my life," says Hudgens. "I'm always on the lookout for something to incorporate into my skincare routine that will help me. I've always been interested in clay masks." Hudgens explains that the clay for the mask is "harvested from an active glacier," which excites her: "I'm a huge nature lover. I like a holistic approach. I love looking to Mother Nature for healing remedies. The mask also contains seaweed and lactic acid to even out skin tone without drying it out, which was a common problem with clay masks that Hudgens was trying to address.

"I use it almost every day," says Hudgens of Know Beauty's Glacial Bay Clay Mask. "I put it on my skin first [in the morning]. Then I brush my teeth, check my phone and hop in the shower to rinse off. Plus I cleanse, tone and use serum, then I love a moisturizer and protector together. I recently discovered the Ilia company that makes a tinted moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and sunscreen. I love things that make life easier.

About what's in her makeup bag

In addition to Ilia's tinted sunscreen, Hudgens has a few other makeup products, including Refy Brow Gel ("I have thick brows, so I need something to hold them in place") and Freck Pen. ("It's a great way to cover a pimple") and turn it into a "spot"). For lips, it should be a long-wearing, non-transferable formula; Hudgens opts for Liquid Lipstick from Makeup Forever.

On her "chrome pearl" nails

Hudgens calls her nails "the least maintenance thing." For her hard gels, turn to L.A. bestswoman Zola Ganzorigt, who also works with Hailey Bieber and started the "glazed donut" trend.

"She sold me pearl chrome and I've been obsessed with it ever since," Hudgens said of the pro. "I used to love doing crazy, edgy nail art, but the older I get, the more I crave simplicity."

On their "wedding preparation"

While Hudgens has skincare and beauty experts on hand and is keeping tabs on her marriage, she says she won't be scheduling appointments for lasers, fillers or Fraxel botox until her wedding day. marriage. "It's not really my mood," he explains. "From now on, beauty won't change much for me." It is both a philosophy and an aesthetic. "Natural beauty is where it is," Hudgens says, "and I feel like the love of your life accepts you and loves you for who you are." So why would you want to change that?"

Instead of stressing out, Hudgens says she's asking for help. “At first I thought I would do it myself,” she says. “As the months passed and I realized that nothing had been done, I thought to myself, okay, I need help. When the overwhelming times come (which they do), she devotes herself to her spiritual practice. "When I'm really stressed, I try to take a minute to relax," says Hudgens. "I love breathing. I recorded a YouTube video where there are drum sounds that connect to your breathing. When you're stressed, you forget to breathe, even when it's the simplest thing that either.
