Tanner Marlow, a professional MMA fighter with the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), was killed during a shooting in Bakersfield, California, that ended in a double homicide.
Bakersfield Police reported that a gunman entered the home where Marlow was staying on Christmas Eve, with it also claimed that, at the time of the assault, Marlow was also armed and defended himself.
Marlow and the assailant, who was identified as Jacob Malena, were both killed in the shooting.
Malena allegedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's house, where he surprised Marlow.
"We are heartbroken by the tragic passing of our Team Iridium brother, Tanner Marlow," Iridium Sports Agency, Marlow's agency, stated.
"Tanner is fondly remembered as one of the most promising undefeated prospects in the sport of MMA and a very proud family man.
