Over the past two years, Bebe Rexha has slowly but surely made her way into the spotlight with guest vocals on David Guetta's "Hey Mama" featuring Nicki Minaj and Afrojack and G-eazy. . And in March he released No Broken Hearts, also featuring Minaj, the lead single from his upcoming debut album.
But Rexha doesn't just write for her own voice. Here are seven songs Bebe has brought to the world for other artists.
1. "The Monster" - Eminem with Rihanna
Rexha got her first big break by co-writing The Monster for Eminem and Rihanna. Before writing the book I'm Friends With The Monster Under My Bed, Bebe worked at the perfume counter at Saks, where she met Rihanna. Rexha said she was very excited to see Rihanna, but Rihanna didn't talk to her. It looks like Rihanna finally got interested in what Rexha had to say.
2. "Like a champ" - Selena Gomez
Bebe Rexha wrote "Like a Champion" for Gomez's album Stars Dance. Between the Bajan accent Gomez adopts for the song and the lyrics, which include the line "Shine like diamonds in the sky", many have remarked on how reminiscent the song is of Rihanna.
3. "Team" - Iggy Azalea
Iggy's hit "Team" required quite a team: six songwriters in all. Bebe jumped on the stacked tools to help with the hooks. Four months before the song was released, Iggy Azalea tweeted that Bebe Rexha convinced her to "sing lousy and it turned out great". Bebe wrote another song for Iggy's delayed album, Digital Distortion. While working on the team, Rexha told Azalea that she got hit on at a bar. A guy walked up to them and used the pick up line. "You girl look like a three day weekend." Iggy said, "It was so funny I asked Bebe to put it on a song." And so Iggy's "Three Day Weekend" was born. Lesson learned: be careful what you say to Bebe in a bar!
4. "Brilliant" - Nikki Williams
Rexha goes into business with the Island Def Jam label and creates "Glowing" for Nikki Williams. The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
5. "Beneath You" - Nick Jonas
Bebe helped Nick Jonas with the song "Under You" on his album Last Year Was Complicated. The song gained attention primarily for its music video, which features a shower scene between Jonas and Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell.
6. "All on Deck" - Tinashe
Rexha has once again empowered listeners with Tinashe's Aquarius single "All Hands on Deck". This one touches on themes Rexha knows well: heartbreak and trying to get back up after damage. There is even a remix version with Iggy Azalea.
7. "One More Night" - Bella Thorne
Of the five songs on Thorne's Jersey EP, Rexha co-wrote two. The other she helped with turned out to be "Jersey" himself (although Rexha's home was Brooklyn and then Staten Island). It's no surprise to Thorne who turned to Bebe for her EP: Rexha is known for her ability to write a great song about putting aside problems and mastering the dance floor, which is the very essence of "One More Night".
