Taste The Nation Season 2 (May 5)

Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi is a reliable sequel to Anthony Bourdain's travel documentaries about cooking in the United States and now returns for a second season after a four-episode special in 2021 about holiday food. This show is more than just an opportunity to watch Lakshmi eat delicious food with deep jealousy; Its virtue lies in celebrating the cultures that have helped define American cuisine. In Season 2, Lakshmi showcases Puerto Rican cuisine, Appalachian cuisine, Filipino cuisine, and more. It's the kind of show that explores how food unites us, but also how food became a weapon against the people who brought it here in the first place. -Allison Picurro

Class of '09 (May 10)

Bryan Tyree Henry and Kate Mara take a group of unorthodox FBI cadets to the FBI Academy and beyond in this limited-edition thriller: Class of 2009, Baby! - whose careers span multiple timelines past, present and future and how they are changing over their lifetime with the addition of artificial intelligence to the criminal justice system. Whew, that's a mouthful, and you'll want to be extra careful to keep an eye out for all the intertwining strands to make the twists rewarding for you. keep your phone; It is not for casual viewing.

The Great Season 3 (May 12)

Tony McNamara's lovingly inaccurate historical drama returns (finally!) for its third season and follows the aftermath of Catherine (Elle Fanning) and Peter (Nicholas Hoult)'s reconciliation. If you remember, she tried to kill him in the season 2 finale, but hey, they're in couples therapy this season, which means they're really trying to make it work! Season 3 also explores Catherine's struggle to win favor with the Russian people, who hate her so much that she vents her anger at a Catherine-inspired voodoo doll and plots uprisings, as well as her ongoing quest to reform the country. As that other show about vicious power struggles draws to a close, The Great returns just in time. -Allison Picurro

The Clearing (May 24)

This hair-raising Australian psychological thriller is based on J.P. Pomare's crime thriller In the Clearing and features the scariest family of platinum blonde lunatics since the Targaryens ruled Westeros. Miranda Otto plays the leader of a cult who brainwashes and corrupts innocent children, and Teresa Palmer plays the woman who opposes them to end their power. This one will mess with your mind.
