Tom Cruise just given everyone a taste of what it might be like; the Olympic Games are about to go Hollywood.
Star of "Mission: Impossible" executed a dangerous stunt jump from the top of the Stade de France during Sunday's closing ceremony.
Cruise was lowered down to the arena floor on a cable while the limelight focused on him on the roof. Then he moved among the competitors toward the platform, shaking hands and snapping pictures along the way—including one extremely passionate hug from a female participant.
That was not everything.
Cruise took the Olympic flag, fixed it to a motorcycle, and drove out of the stadium across a throng of athletes as part of the Hollywood handoff to Los Angeles, who will host the Games in 2028. Nobody seemed to have been hurt.)
Cruise appeared in an apparently pre-taped part riding across Paris until he arrived at a jet that transcended space and time to reach Los Angeles in a little piece of movie magic.
Cruise was spotted at the Hollywood sign as the camera zoomed out, the Olympic rings substituting for the double "o"s in the word Hollywood.
Indeed, all of that is exactly what happened.
Of course, Cruise is well-known for his enthusiasm for stunt work.
For numerous movies, particularly the multibillion-dollar "Mission" franchise in which he plays spy Ethan Hunt, the actor notably has placed his body on the line. 2025 should see an eighth installment.
