Saturday wasn't a problem either: K-Pop's Blackpink more than earned their headlining spot, and sets from Boygenius, Rosalía, Calvin Harris, the Breeders and Ethel Cain all stood out.
The Times' Mikael Wood, August Brown, Suzy Exposito, Kenan Drauhorne and Vanessa Franko tour the grounds of the Empire Polo Club in Indio and report on all the action as it happens.
Last night we saw a cracking set from K-pop femme fatale Blackpink murdering the main stage. Tonight, enigmatic singer-songwriter Frank Ocean will headline what marks his first live performance since 2017; This will unite sadbois, sadgirls and sadtheys in cathartic teardrop harmony. – Suzy Exposito
1:30 p.m. I started my day “early” with an iced coffee, a pupusa and a good 1 p.m. Founded by Sierra's first all-female Gen-Z group, Conexión Divina, with a Breakfast of Champions. The Los Angeles trio, who met on Instagram, wowed the Sonoran tent with sweet mountain tunes from their new album Tres Mundos, a collection of ethereal and emotionally intelligent regional Mexican ballads. Conexión Divina also added spice to their set with a bullfighting version of Bad Bunny's reggae song "Me Fui de Vacaciones", followed by a cover of "Como la Flor" by the patron saint of Mexican flying girls, Selena Quintanilla. . - HE
15:05 A pan-Latin divide has begun in outdoor theater! Legendary ska rockers Los Fabulosos Cadillacs warmed up the Sunday crowd with a slew of punk anthems including "Mal Bicho" and "Matador." During their 45-minute set, flags from various countries could be seen among the crowd of skanking Latinos, including those representing Mexico, Puerto Rico and the band's home country of Argentina. - HE
3:15 p.m. After climbing the Mojave stage just after 3:00 p.m. M., IDK needed a minute to breathe.
"I've been preparing for this moment my whole life," the Maryland rapper told the audience as he was bathed in anticipated applause.
IDK geared their outfit around Formula 1 racing and wore a black racing suit with the year 1965 on the chest. The set didn't quite budge at 100 mph: The Maryland rapper took a moment to catch the crowd's breath, either to the mellow beat of "Breathe" or during the literal pit stop as crew members descended from the wings descended from the stage to tie his shoes. Towards the end, he brought in Rich the Kid to perform their collaboration "850 (We On Top)" with Rich's hit "Plug Walk".
"It was surreal," IDK said after their performance in the media tent. "Playing at Coachella is something I've always wanted to do. Since it was so early, I wasn't sure people would show up, but they showed up and showed up."
The set design hinted at the concept behind their upcoming album F-65. The concept is a metaphor for the human race looking to use supercars and their competition-focused humans to drive home the point.
“I fell in love with racing because I wanted a concept for racing,” he said. "I spent all my time researching. I watched all the [Mercedes] 190e, [Lamborghini] EVO2 videos on YouTube. I'm really living it m-. –Kenan Drauhorne
15:20 Stick Figure brings laid back reggae rock vibes to the outdoor theater stage on this sunny Sunday. The only thing missing for the typical SoCal afternoon is a Sublime song. Oh wait, here's a cover of Summertime. –Vanessa Franco
15:55 I was wandering in the countryside when I was drawn to the Gobi tent by the sound of fast guitars and a blonde woman jumping across the stage. That's the magic of Coachella.
"I don't know if you know this or not, but you came to a punk show," R&B singer-songwriter Fousheé told the crowd.
I hadn't, but judging by the viewers who put their hands in his direction, I'm not the only one happy to be here. —V.F.
4:07 p.m. A little more demographic from GloRilla to open his set on the main stage: "I don't know how many ratchet bitches we got in the crowd today," the Memphis rapper said, "but we got one on scene." -M.W.
4:10 p.m. Coachella fans who credit Fousheé most for co-writing Steve Lacy's R&B hit "Bad Habit" might not have anticipated the metal riffs and drum hits that filled their stage during their late night set. But for those who had already converted, they came ready to go.
There's something deeply admirable about Fousheé's determination to destroy the top 40 potential he had after penning one of last year's biggest hits. He's written and sung with Lil Wayne, James Blake, Lil Yachty and Vince Staples, but at Coachella his set was littered with twisted punk songs like "Stupid B-" (which has the memorable hook "I'll blow your brains out , you stupid b-) and "Deep End", where he made fun of a man who "can't pay me, can't pay me".
With a large cast of long-haired Hessians and a few swirls of atmospheric samples, the singer, dressed in a black and chrome bondage skirt, got a wicked delight beyond expectation. Her 2022 album Softcore was an intriguing but uneven pop hit and soothing R&B, but on Sunday she showed up on stage to hurt the crowd and then win it back.
"It's so hot, don't pass out," she implored her fans. "But I will come to your rescue if you do." - August Brown
5:16 p.m. The Coachella app warned that the festival car parks were full and encouraged those who still made it to park at Indian Wells Tennis Garden, about 8 miles away, to catch a free shuttle. Clearly, Frank Ocean is going to draw a big crowd tonight. —V.F.

For the overwhelming majority music fans, the Coachella live stream is far superior to being there. Rather than doing combating through a horde of 125,000, picking the solace of a love seat is a sensible choice.
Sadly, the people who selected streaming will miss the end of the week's most expected presentation. Plain Sea, who has not performed live starting around 2017, will feature Coachella's principal stage Sunday night at 10:05 p.m., however his show won't be circulated on Coachella's YouTube channel. It's uncertain whether his presentation one weekend from now will be live-streamed.
Bjork's show Sunday night won't be shown by the same token. By correlation, the earlier evenings' main events, Awful Rabbit and BLACKPINK, were both accessible to stream.
It fits with Sea's famously confounding persona. Fans who would have liked to get a duplicate of his interesting 2016 collection "Blonde" were shocked to realize there was just a single duplicate available to be purchased. Furthermore, there wasn't some other Blunt Sea merchandise available to be purchased at the celebration by any means, albeit a few fans could be spotted with interesting Shirts embellished with Sea's verses.
Tales have flowed web-based about the presentation of another melody, and fans might dare to dream that his Coachella appearance will be coordinated with the arrival of a long-expected follow-up to "Blonde." But enthusiasts of Sea realize that he's a craftsman working on a timetable his own, and it's all's one that is difficult to foresee.
